At In Step, our success comes from our method: we emphasize a strong team approach with our families. Our team of talented mental health therapists, in their decades of practice, offer an expansive range of clinical experience. We tailor treatment plans to each client’s individual needs and offer an array of services to meet those needs. We know it “takes a village” to help individuals develop skills and change. In Step has created strong connections in the Northern Virginia community over its 17 years of business. Educators, physicians, and other mental health professionals partner with us on behalf of our clients.

We are the home of Stepping Stones. Early in her career, In Step Director, Cathi Cohen LCSW,CGP recognized the power of treating relationship problems through group therapy. It was this interest and expertise that led her to create the highly effective social skills program, Stepping Stones, in 1990. Cohen’s best selling parenting book Raise Your Child’s Social IQ: Stepping Stones to People Skills for Kids is based on over 10 years of collected data and experience gained through Stepping Stones.
