About this provider
Our goal is to "level the playing field" for students with ADHD, ADD, and/or Executive Function challenges and to inspire students to strive to achieve their potential in school and in life. Unlike traditional tutoring, we use current academic challenges as a springboard to teach the skills and habits necessary for long-term success in school and beyond.
We provide personalized solutions to help students with managing distractions, focusing attention, organization, planning, prioritizing, time management, homework, reading comprehension, writing, long term projects, test prep, emotional regulation, and other academic challenges.
We have adapted a proven, research-based methodology that allows us to work with students whether they are resistant to change, ready to make a change or might be somewhere in between. We have helped hundreds of students to stop their downward spiral and achieve academic success (along with confidence and self esteem).
Our Executive Function coaches are highly qualified educators, school psychologists, or speech & language pathologists with master's degrees or higher and extensive experience supporting students with ADHD and Executive Function challenges.

A Very Good Service
Our son has been working with an academic coach from Beyond Booksmart for almost one year now. They matched him very well to a coach that he respects and with whom he likes to work. It's a slow process to improve executive function skills. You don't see the success of the coaching after one or two sessions. After a year of coaching, the improvement is evident and invaluable.
Great service
My high-school age son with ADHD has received weekly tutoring from Beyond Booksmart counselors for two years. I contacted Beyond Booksmart when my son was starting to founder in his fast-paced high school. Both tutors he had were well-matched for his personality and work style. He enjoys working with them and has improved his organizational and planning skills. I am certain that he attained and retained much more academically than he would have otherwise. What makes BB so great is the tutors' ability to tailor the sessions to the my son's needs and achieve just the right balance in encouragement and ensuring that he is following his plan. I also hired a Beyond Booksmart tutor for my high school age other son, who believed that he was not a good writer. He went from getting B's and C's on papers to A's and B+'s after working with his BB tutor. He is so excited about writing - he used to hate it, and now feels confident.

Beyond BookSmart is an invaluable service. My daughter thrived under the patient tutorage and guidance. Beyond Booksmart
Beyond Booksmart has provided our son with the tools to help him manage the challenges associated with his ADHD. There is never a quick fix and nothing is solved overnight, but his coach has taught him how to look at things from a different perspective. Understand why it takes him longer to complete a task than one of his peers and to create a solution that can help him throughout his life. This takes time and commitment and his coach is completely on his team. In addition to helping our son, his coach has helped us to better understand his challenges, how we can help and most importantly that we are not alone.

Navigating High School
Beyond Booksmart has been a fantastic resource for us as a supplement to our son's IEP in high school. BB provides a clear framework for developing executive function with goals, weekly notes and feedback through their portal and direct communication with our coach. We've worked with our BB coach, Rachel, for 2 and a half years and she's been an accessible, unintimidating and positive resource who our son trusts and works with closely. She has really helped him develop his natural abilities and an awareness of learning strategies that emphasize self advocacy.
