About this provider
As a psychotherapist (licensed in NV and WA State), Harvard IOC Coaching Fellow (globally) and educator, I understand your struggles and am here to help you and your partner navigate the myriad challenges that ADHD presents. I help you identify and embrace the ADHD traits that are uniquely yours to bring harmony and balance to your life, relationships, career and money issues, specific to ADHD.
Adult ADHD mimics many other disorders; however, a firm diagnosis and custom treatment plan ensures you receive the help you richly deserve.
With over 23,000 hours assessing, diagnosing and treating clients with Adult ADHD over the past three decades, I understand that perhaps you have felt misunderstood. That changes now, with me. I understand and can help!
I am warm, supportive, and non-judgmental; I understand your struggles and that perhaps you've always felt that ADHD was the cause of your challenges and difficulties. You may have taken tests online and recognized yourself in many of the answers. Or perhaps your child has been diagnosed with ADHD and pieces of your own life are falling into place. Whatever brings you here now, I can help.
Contact me today at Teresa@TeresaLauer.com if any of the following sound like you:
• You've have been told by others that you're "thin skinned" or emotional
• You’re more perceptive or intuitive than others
• You're a high-achiever, expert at hyperfocus—but mostly with the things that interest you or provide some kind of pleasure
• If you can’t do something perfect, you’d rather not do it at all
• You've reached heights in your career that others envy, though they may not realize fully what it has taken for you to get there
• The words "Imposter Syndrome" ring in your head every time you sense judgement or criticism from others. Getting where you have has taken a lot from you personally as well as from your relationships
• Irresistible urges are commonplace and relentless. Days, hours—minutes, even—are full of distraction and overwhelm leaving you exhausted
Here’s the process I use in conducting a very comprehensive, Assessment and Diagnosis: Our time together takes place over four hours (optimally two, two-hour sessions) in which we look at both your current challenges as well as your childhood experiences. I then provide you with a follow-up two-hour session in which I present you with a detailed Treatment Plan with my findings. A direction and way forward is our goal with this comprehensive, thorough process.
